- The program: AGE.COM is used to age and delete old NOS area bulletins
- automatically. It should be run once a day as a timed task at the quietest
- time for mailbox activity. See the DOS.BAT file for an example on how to
- do this. It cna be run from any directory; the \SPOOL\MAIL path is hard
- coded.
- The program automatically ages all areas listed in the \SPOOL\AREAS file.
- This file must be in a standard format, viz
-
- <AREANAME> <AGE> <Comment>
-
- where <AREANAME> is the Name of the bulletin area - this corresponds to the
- xxxx.TXT bulletin file in the \SPOOL\MAIL\ directory.
- <AGE> is the time in days that you wish to keep the bulletin.
- <Comment> is an appropriate comment to describe the contents of the area.
- No other text lines should exist in the file.
-
- For example, my AREAS file contains the folowing:
-
- AMIGA 31 Amiga and Atari Bulletins.
- AMSAT 21 Amsat, Satellites, Keplers, Space, etc.
- AMTOR 31 Amtor Bulletins.
- etc...
-
- AMIGA area bulletins will be kept for 31 days, AMSAT ones for 21 days, etc...
